EcoLights has provided lamp recycling services to a wide variety of contractors since 1996. Our company-owned truck fleet and environmental compliance expertise allow us to respond quickly with comprehensive storage and transportation solutions for any size job.

As the largest fluorescent lamp recycler in the Pacific Northwest, we have become the choice of a wide variety of contractors including:

▪  Demolition
▪  Abatement

▪  Lighting
▪  Electrical

▪  General
▪  Maintenance

Our services are designed to meet the most stringent environmental regulations and provide safety for our employees and those of our customers. We maintain our own Environmental Health and Safety department to ensure that your recycling will be properly manifested and documented. Certificates of Recycling are provided with your invoice. For orders placed at the EcoLights online store, certificates of recycling can also be printed on demand from your Web browser once your materials have been received and processed by EcoLights.

We know that selecting a responsible lamp recycler is critical to protecting your business as well as the environment. More detailed environmental compliance information and tours of our Seattle recycling facility are available to our customers on request.

Whole Fixture Recycling
For many types of jobs, contractors can save time and money by recycling the entire lighting fixture instead of just the lamp. EcoLights accepts whole lighting fixtures for recycling, then removes the lamps and recycles the fixtures. In doing so, we greatly minimize or eliminate the waste that would otherwise go to landfill.

Starting January 1, 2013, it will be illegal for businesses and residents to throw mercury-containing lights in the trash. EcoLights has the information on the law and what it means for you.

All fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) contain small amounts of mercury. Nationwide, only about 25% of the 680 million lights discarded each year are recycled. The remainder is disposed of in solid waste landfills and incinerators. In Washington this represents over 15 million lamps per year.
